Deconstructing History Alun Munslow Since the s, Alun Munslow has been a leading exponent of the postmodern approach to history. For a stage 1 course, the assignments and exam are marked far too harshly and they expected way more than anyone could give. Anita wasnt as bad as people say This one is for the etymologists. If you have shown a willingness to contribute to tutorials the tutor may be more sympathetic to requests for coursework extensions and aware of your abilities in the event of a borderline grade needing confirmation.
Hosted by the team from howstuffworks, this podcast covers all sorts of different historical stories from ancient to modern times.
Political Science | Faculty of Arts
The assignment pretty straight forward, but the exam was coursswork bit of a time constraint with the amount you had to write. Unfortunately this is a good set up for other political science papers.
The syllabus page shows a table-oriented view of course schedule and basics of course grading.
I also feel like poltics started off really liberal which is great as a big fat lefty but over time he came the horror ‘neo-liberal’, like that one lecture when he started going on about trade, not cool Stephen.
Didn’t enjoy this at all.
I only found out a few days before it was due that we had to approach the entire topic in my case global warming with a certain theoretical framework. All the tutors really know their stuff so you really need to impress them!
Very limited resources available.
I wouldn’t recommend this course. I would have learnt more relevant global politics reading Boris Johnson’s twitter feed -and that’s saying something! Overall- if you are choosing a paper for the primary purposes of hoa your GPA up, you may be taking your chances.
That being said the tutorial exercises is an easy A and the exam is not that hard courseqork. Posing every chapter as a question, its structure is waffly at best and the index is useless.
Politics and International Relations
This review was posted on April 24, It is just bad. The course is taught through 24 lecture hours and 11 weekly tutorials. This review was posted on May 29, This review was posted on May 04, This could have been fixed by a simple, “You need to use references in this task”.
Be prepared to work hard every week as they have tutorial tests which count for our total mark at the end. Really wish I had read all these comments before leaping to my death. Lecturers post very biased articles on the forums and will mark you down if you disagree.
The feeling of being in those lectures was uncannily similar to having not slept for 24 hours. The course is informed by and introduces a range of international relations theories. Seriously, you could do a lot worse in terms of lecturers.
Overall, this was the one class that I was genuinely excited to turn up to twice a week and would definitely recommend Anita as a lecturer. On the other hand, I found my tutor, while adjusting to awkward silences well and was really knowledgable, was extremely condescending in his criticism. All that is necessary to enjoy the lectures is simply listening and paying attention to current affairs and patterns in world history.
The book for this course was to big to read, could possible be read in a year but not a semester considering all the other readings you have to do. Content you will also love or hate. They make fun of polotics they disagree with, be it conservatives, right-wing parties, Christians, or white people. The lecture content is interesting but it was not presented well.
This question was the one I picked and I used Marxist theory and got an A in the essay. Because speaking out will only put you in their bad books, and lead to lower grades.
